My father Flavio is a windsurfer since 20 years, so when kiteboarding arrived in italy he was one of the first trying it out at our spot. He didn’t got hooked that much, he’s kiting now only when the wind is light, and still windsurfing when conditions are stronger! I definitely got hooked up, as my spot is not much a windsurf place because the wind is very light most of the time. I was much lighter when I started kiting, so i was out in the water pretty much the whole time..when not studying!
WHO INSPIRE YOU?
I try to get what i like from all the riders i look at, wakeboarding and cable gave a lot of insipiration for sure, with new tricks and way of riding…but definitely in kiting Aaron Hadlow is the guy to look at!
Cabrinha Nomad in all the sizes. The Nomad is the hibrid C-shape kite from Cabrinha, it’s just a great kite for me, very stable, light bar pressure, fast turning, lots of depower and easy relaunch, it has all what i need. It has the good feeling of a C kite, but also the good things of a bow kite. I also ride the Caliber 133x41cm. I ‘ve been riding the caliber for a couple years now, and I really like it. It has a moderate scoop rocker, to easily stay in the competitiong area, the full wood construction give it a great flex, especially on the tips for good pop and easy landings.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN RIDING CABRINHA?
I’ve been riding Cabrinha since the beginning…so making it to the international team this year was a dream coming true for me. I really like the brand and the people involved in it, Everybody is funny, easy going and super passionate about the job their doing. It really feels like being part of a big family!
Wind around 20-25knots from the right, with flat water coming in and good kickers goin out is the best i can think off. If also my friends are out with me, then is a perfect session!
HOWS TRAVELLING THE WHOLE YEAR ON TOUR?
In 2009 I started my first full year on the Pkra, but due to the world crisis lots of events were cancelled, and it was just a 4 stops year, so i competed again on the Italian Tour and I attended university. 2010 is my second year fulling competing the whole year, and with 5 events for the European Tour and 10 events for the Pkra, the travelling has been way more! Seeing a lot of new places and having friends all around the world is just an amazing experience. You can get tired of it sometimes, so it’s good to spend some time at home with the family and all my friends, to recharge my batteries, before leaving again!
