so after the last event in Brazil, back in September, we were all looking forward to finish the year at its best at the last event in the far away, but amazing New Caledonia!
Noumea and the bay of Ansa Vate has a great spot for kiting, the wind kicks in straight off-shore, which make the water really flat in the inside perfect for all our tricks!
We also jump really close to the beach so the public can follow all the comp checking all the tricks and cheering!
Still sitting in 3rd place overall after the past 6 stops I was really hoping to keep it…so finish before Marc Jacobs ( 4th overall) in this event !
I started the singles in a really good way, passed my first heat against the local kid Riffard, then had a solid heat against my Brazilian mate Reno Romeu which was riding really good. I lost against Alex Pastor in the semis (only later realize my board broke again 
But then had my best heat against Mario Rodwald in the finals, landing some good grabbed switch tricks and Bj5 at the end, finishing 3rd in the singles!
Youri Zoon though, lost early in the singles and that gave Marc Jacobs an easier way to get to the winner finals! It was a bit harsh for me..but was hoping to still make it in the doubles!
I was really pumped for my heat and coming up was World Champ Youri Zoon, as expected!
I went out on my 9m good powered and gave it all, did a few combos, lots of switch tricks, kiteloop5, went for a Bj5 but my leash got stuck on my hook and crashed my kite at the end:( That was the only crash of the heat… but yah, had lots of fun, and I was really happy of my heat! Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to pass, Youri won in a close decision.. and that left me in 4th position in the doubles!
Finishing 4th wasn’t really what I was aiming for…but I guess, thats how it goes sometimes. Every result, competition or tour either is good or bad is something which I can learn from, to be better and ready for it next time!
My 2011 overall was still such a great year! I did improve from last year, I’ve been really consistent during the whole season, had 3 podiums and finished in the top 4 for 6 events out of 7!
So this motivate me a lot to ride hard and keep on pushing my riding for next year!
